Bella’s humans, Reed & Alicia (click HERE to see some of their wedding photos!) have just returned home to Maine from their honeymoon in Jamaica. No doubt they missed this cute pup!

Family shot on the rocky cliffs!

If Bella finds a puddle, she’ll stare down into it for hours if time allows. I had the privilege of seeing her do this twice in one morning!

Ah! She is adorable!

Too cute! I am slightly obsessed with Bella’s paws!

Happy Monday!

Meet Boogie & Birdie- two of the coolest dogs in all of Portland’s East End!

Birdie is eight years old & came to her loving parents through the wonderful organization, Almost Home Rescue. She is such a cuddly, sweet, treat-loving pup! Her brother, Boogie (who also goes by Shmoogie, Nudgie & Stoli!) is two and a half, and came to his forever home from the ARL. Boogie would be the happiest dog in the world if he always had easy access to a ball. So cute!

Boogie & Birdie live with three cats! Penelope (aka Lopey!) is six and a half and is the darling mother of Gizmo (right) & Gus (below). I think living with Boogie & Birdie have certainly given each of the cats their own distinct & fun personality!!

Jessica & Brian love all of their cute kids!

Boogie & Birdie love their Molly Mutt beds!

Jessica & Brian were so sweet to send home treats & wine for Michael, Orvis & I . . .

. . . it looks like Lopey wanted a quick peek (or taste!) of the gift first!

Thank you so much, Jessica & Brian, for inviting me to your home to capture the interaction between you both and all of your wonderful pets. It was fun to witness such a dynamic, beautiful connection you have to each one!

Meet Rachel the cocker spaniel. She loves running along and exploring the beach, napping on the comfy bed and playing with her sister.

This is Rachel’s sister, Coco. Together they are two of the cutest cocker spaniels in all of Portland. Coco will be your best friend if you have just one treat. She, too, loves going on excursions to the beach.

When Rachel & Coco are not in East Hampton, New York, they spend their time in a beautiful apartment in downtown Portland.

In addition to getting some shot of Rachel & Coco in their Portland home, we thought it would be fun to take the dogs to their favorite beach in all of Maine- Ferry Beach.

Rachel was a riot! She bounced & danced throughout the sand and was quite the camera hog.

It was a windy afternoon at Ferry, and both girls’ coats were beautifully blowing in the wind.

Loved this shot of Michael & the girls. I’m not sure what was going on over there, but it must have been something interesting!

Thank you, Michael & John, for inviting me to your home and to the beach! It was so much fun getting to know the four of you. I hope you’ll bring the girls by the studio for a visit the next time you’re in the area!

This is Copley, the little lovable ball of golden fluff I introduced on my blog a couple of weeks ago. Copley is 18 weeks old and full of curiosity, love, spunk and a whole lot of golden, fluffy goodness.

Copley has two older brothers who, because they are so handsome and incredibly well-trained, have been featured in catalogs like Orvis & FetchDog. Since Copley hasn’t had quite the modeling experience his brothers have had, we decided the shoot would be more Copley-focused. But, you know me, I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of these two handsome dogs, Finn (short for Finnegan!) and Tally.
Finn is so wise and made sure to keep an eye on the two younger pups throughout our session… while chewing on his bone! So sweet!

Tally is a little younger than Finn and still has enough energy to roll around with and chase his puppy brother all day long!

Look at those puppy eyes!

Copley is very much a puppy. Everything is so new to him right now and a lot of times he has this inquisitive look on his face. Oh, the adventures of a puppy!

Tally is so patient with his younger brother. Watching them interact like this seriously made me daydream about what our life would be like if we added a puppy to the mix…. So cute!

Thank you, Jill, for introducing me to your beautiful, well-behaved family of goldens! I hope you’ll bring them all to the studio when we work on Copley’s ads.

Last weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the grand opening of southern Maine’s newest dog training & event studio, Finish Forward Dogs. The owners of Finish Forward, Jay & Shannan, contacted me a couple of months ago about hanging some of my canvases on the walls of the studio and invited me to participate in the opening. To say I was flattered to receive both invitations is certainly an understatement…
Shannan & Jay, along with their four dogs, have worked so hard to open this beautiful facility- the only one of its kind in Southern Maine.

I love all of the green!

I love this picture of Nancy Freedman-Smith’s sweet daughter. The Smith girls are always happy to be at these dog events because they get to see all of the cute pups!

I was also excited to offer a drawing for a free dog photography session at the event!
And the winner is . . .

Amanda Johnson!
Thanks, Jay & Shannan, for having me to the studio! It was wonderful to meet all of your clients, friends and family who continue to show their support of your growing business. I had a great time visiting with old friends and making new ones. I’m excited to see what great things you both do with Finish Forward!

Oh, my heart melted when I met this little guy the other day. Copley the golden retriever puppy is a sweet little ball of golden fluff. And he’s only 16 weeks old!
I couldn’t resist posting this picture of Copley as he grabbed my camera strap. Too cute!

Okay, just one more! It’s hard to stop.

I’m off to Palm Beach to photograph a wedding (the couple’s dogs will actually be in the ceremony!), but I will post more pictures of this sweet little polar bear when I return. Happy Thursday!

Since starting my business this past year, I’ve met so many lovely and inspiring people. I’ve enjoyed getting to know and networking several with amazing, talented individuals. Julie Bernier is definitely one of those people I’m so fortunate to have connected with, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to call her a friend.
When Julie, the owner of Maine’s only puppy nursery, Dances with Dogs, contacted me about collaborating with her on a special project, I couldn’t wait to hear more about her ideas and start brainstorming. Our first planning session took place during a lovely hike in Cape Elizabeth’s Robinson Woods while watching our three labs (Orvis, Casco & Tonya) romp through the trails.
I met Tiny the black lab for our project’s first photo shoot this past weekend. You know I cannot resist a little lab puppy who loves to chew (on anything!)…

I couldn’t wait to get home from the session and show Michael the photos. She looks like a mini-Orvis!
Watch out for more of these shots from our ongoing project!

Charlie the Labradoodle was a great assistant during my sister’s “She Said Yes” shoot. He happily wore a chalkboard around his furry neck, proudly announcing that his parents were getting married- MacKenzie had said yes to Philip’s proposal!

Since adopting Charlie in December, these two have grown pretty attached to him. After meeting him, it’s easy to see why!

Thanks for checking out more of Charlie the labradoodle!
