Dog owners everywhere know there is nothing more special than a place where dogs can run, play and swim with each other until they can no longer move. Camp Yellow Dog is one of those special places! I had the privilege of heading out to Camp Yellow Dog the other night, just down the road in Cape Elizabeth, where I met some fun-loving dogs (yes, most of them were yellow!) and their delightful humans!

Meet the campers!
Tilly is the youngest camper in the group!

Sweet Fenway is a tennis ball kind of guy!

Tucker & Lucas

If you’re a big FetchDog fan, you might have seen Lucas in the catalog! For being as famous as he is, Lucas is quite down to earth though!

Tucker doesn’t let his multi-colored fur stand in his way of having fun with his yellow cousins!

At Camp Yellow Dog there is no designated swimming period. Swim Time is all day long!

Tucker is the camp’s lifeguard!

Camper, Lucas, and Tucker, the lifeguard, demonstrate how to ride in a boat!

Tug of War: a classic camp pastime!

There is so much fun going on at Camp Yellow Dog all the time, the dogs get VERY hungry! Tilly let us know that it was Snack Time!

Surfing lessons commence after snack-time. The dogs learn the basics of the sport on land, and then they transition to surfing in the water!

Like Swim Time, Ball Time is pretty much an all day affair too!

Woodworking 101

And no day at camp is complete without a mud bath!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Poole & Sawyer families! I had a blast documenting life at Camp Yellow Dog and hope to come back very soon! It’s now one of my happy places!
