My DIY door desk at the & unlimited studio has been featured on the Planet Green website! We’ve been shocked at the number of awesome websites to pick up my initial post about the door desk. I’ll be posting pictures of the new house soon! You’ll see the same technique of DIY furniture from found objects! For now, check out Planet Green’s write-up!

A couple of weeks ago I received a delightful e-mail from a blogger asking me if he could feature a few of my dog photos on his informative photography blog, Weekly Photo Tips. After clicking around, I discovered that Scott Eccleston was not just a blogger, he was a talented Maine photographer! On a recent trip to Sooper Dogs in Saco, Scott discovered some of my marketing materials and thought I might be a good fit for Weekly Photo Tips, a great site for anyone interested in photography! & unlimited photography is featured in the current edition of The Maine Switch! I had a wonderful time sitting down with the writer, Belinda Ray, over a cup of tea and chatting about life, my obsession with Orvis and business. The article is very well-written and accurately portrays me both, as a photographer and a person! I was also lucky enough to meet the talented, Fred Field, throughout this process too, as he came to the studio to snap a quick photo of me. (Oh, how I dread being on the other side of the camera!)

Michael, my family and I do keep laughing about the thirty foot canvas mentioned in the article. While Orvis would certainly love a canvas the size of a three story building devoted entirely to him, we just do not have the space. Thirty inches was all we could fit!

Orvis and I are featured in the latest edition of The Current! Unfortunately the fame has already gone to his head and he is strutting his stuff around town like he is quite the big shot. I cannot seem to find a copy of the article online and this was the best my semi-small scanner could do. If you’re a local Mainer, be sure to pick up a copy for yourself!

New Summer Hours at Willard Beach!

Just a friendly reminder that the new summer hours at Willard Beach begin tomorrow, May 1st. Dogs are allowed under voice control during the hours of 7am – 9am and 7pm – 9pm.

And, of course, I’m still available for early morning and evening (as the summer progresses and it stays lighter later) Willard Beach photo sessions!

my desk is famous!

Last night as Michael and I were watching LOST (our newest Netflix addiction- seriously, we’re hooked!), I was catching up on my Google Reader and was thrilled to see a post about my desk on one of my favorite blogs, The Inspired Room! We were so excited to read what Melissa had to say about the new studio’s DIY desk, that we totally forgot to pause the show- something that never happens when we watch LOST!

I wish I could take 100 percent of the credit for my fun desk, but most of it goes to my parents! Both of them worked from home as I was growing up, and they always had desks made out of doors and sawhorses in their home offices. Having beautifully renovated several older homes throughout their lives, they always knew where to find cool old doors to make their tabletops complete! The door on which I am typing this very blog post came from a 19th century plantation home on the coast of North Carolina, and the sawhorses are two of the many my parents used throughout the challenging, but incredibly successful, renovation of that same plantation home.

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to check out The Inspired Room, you should definitely make a point to do so! Melissa will surely inspire you with her fantastic eye for design and decor!

marley is named “barker of the house!”

Marley, the fun-loving yellow lab puppy, was recently named as the Maine State Legislature’s “Barker of the House!” I was excited to hear Marley’s mother, Representative Cynthia Dill, entered the photographs Marley and I took together a few weeks ago.
